Phy Chan Than was born in Cambodia and graduated with a B.A. from the School of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh in 1983 and with a M.A. from the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest, Hungary in 1992. He is currently a professor at the Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh. In addition to exhibitions in Cambodia, Phy Chan Than has also taken part in shows in Hungary (1990, 1991, 1992), and in Malaysia (1999) - ASEAN Art Awards.
